District Sandcastle Competition 7th June 2022
Event Overview
This year’s District Sandcastle Competition will be held on Tuesday 7th June 2022 on Burnham-on-Sea beach near the jetty beginning at 5:30pm for the younger sections and then from 6:30pm for the older sections.
The theme this year is The Jubilee.
To keep things simple this year there will not be a district provided hot dog / drink – we will leave it to groups and sections to decide whether they wish to provide hot dogs for their young people.
Teams are to consist of up to 7 Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Network or Adults. Please remember to bring your own buckets, spades, flags etc. and to wear uniform.
Leaders are not allowed to help the young people with their Sandcastle but are more than welcome to enter their own team into the leader’s competition.
Each section will need to have enough adults to cover their recommended ratio of adults to young people, You will also have to arrange your own in-touch system and bring first aid kits.
Trophies will be awarded to the winning team in each section.
If your section would like to attend, please reply Via OSM as soon as possible so we have a rough idea of numbers.
If the weather is poor, the DC will email you all by 4pm on the day of the competition to let you know if competition is cancelled.
