District Scout Cooking Competition 2025

Thank you to District Programme Team Member Alison for organising this event.

We are holding a cooking competition for the Scout Section on Sunday 19^th January 2025 at 1^st Burnham on Sea Scout Hut, BASC Ground, Stoddens Road, Burnham on Sea TA8 2BS from 1.30pm until 5pm.

This competition is open to all Scout Troops across the district. We would like teams of 6 to enter from each Scout Troop. This should be one team only from each Scout Troop. We recommend you hold your own cooking competition on a meeting night to select a Team to represent you in the District Cooking Competition.

At least one adult leader will need to accompany patrols to the cooking competition but will not be allowed to help the Scouts cook.

The theme is: dinner party

Teams will be required to make 3 courses. They will need to produce 3 portions of each course and will have 2 ½ hours in which to do this. Teams will need to bring their own cooking equipment and ingredients.

The final dishes will be judged using the following criteria:

• Presentation
• Mouthfeel
• Balance of flavours
• Taste
• Teamwork
• Organisation
• Timing

The winning team will be presented with a trophy at the end of the day.
